SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On October 28th, 2026, at approximately 2250 hours, the Vermont State Police conducted a traffic stop after an observed motor vehicle violation on US Route 7 near the intersection with River Road in the Town of New Haven. The operator was identified as Freddie Watkins (41) of Burlington, Vermont. While speaking to Watkins, Troopers observed indicators of impairment.
Watkins was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing. At the conclusion of processing, Watkins was released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on November 16th, 2026, at 1230 hours to answer to the charge of DUI – Drug: Refusal.
Troopers were assisted by members of the Middlebury Police Department.
